From the Dodge City Globe: Rep. Pat George is headed to Topeka for another two years in the Legislature. The Dodge City Republican, who was seeking his second term, easily defeated Libertarian challenger Jack Warner of Wright in unofficial election results Tuesday. The results showed that George captured 3,187 votes, while Warner finished with 555.

George said he had approached the election with a determination to win, and he was grateful for the people who supported him.

"The faith in me that the voters have shown is not taken lightly," he said. "I feel that itŐs my job to represent them well."

George, who was first elected in 2004, said he will represent his constituents more effectively now that he has one term under his belt.

His priorities for his second term include promoting KansasŐ economic recovery, improving the quality of life for southwest Kansans and working to improve health care.

George serves on the House Taxation, Transportation, Financial Institutions and Environment Committees.

An attempt to reach Warner for comment before press time was unsuccessful.
